Welcome to this week’s Bulletin - your quick source for Division updates, events, and opportunities.
Get to Know the Division's Staff: Meet Ali Lombardi, an Accounting Technician for our Fiscal Unit team! Ali has been with the Division for three and a half years and recently made the exciting transition to her new role. During her time here, she discovered a hidden passion for finance she didn’t even know she had, and she is thrilled to continue growing in this field. As part of the Fiscal Unit, our Division’s dedicated finance crew, Ali handles the important tasks of managing budgets, processing payments, and ensuring financial accuracy across all of our programs. When she is not busy processing invoices, you can usually find Ali enjoying the outdoors with her two kids. Together, they love hiking, snowboarding, and exploring new parks! Have questions about the Division's finances? Contact Ali at office.cddhhdb@state.co.us.
COEHDI Conference Experience: Recently, the Colorado Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (COEHDI) Coordinator Dr. Beth Langer, Colorado Hands & Voices Executive Director Jami Fries, and several key partners traveled to Jacksonville, Florida, for the annual Early Hearing Detection and Intervention (EHDI) conference. The event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with EHDI programs from across the country, allowing the team to gather innovative ideas and strategies to bring back to our partners in Colorado. A major highlight of the conference was Dr. Beth’s presentation on addressing rural health disparities, where she shared valuable lessons from COEHDI, other state programs, and the broader healthcare field. Have questions about COEHDI's latest initiatives? Contact Beth at coehdi.cddhhdb@state.co.us.
Join the Spoken Communication Advisory Group (SCAG): SCAG is dedicated to improving spoken language access for Coloradans experiencing hearing loss. Made up of individuals who use hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other assistive technologies, our group collaborates with the Division to identify and eliminate everyday communication barriers. Right now, our primary focus is developing best practice guidelines for hospital settings so every patient can access the clear communication they deserve. The group meets virtually once a month and are always looking for new voices from across the state to help shape our work. Interested in making a difference? Email Lorri Dean at ctap.cddhhdb@state.co.us to join.
