All voters encouraged to periodically check
voter registration
Boulder County, Colo. – This year the Democratic Party and Republican Party will have primary elections
on Tuesday, June 26. No other political parties are holding a Primary Election
in Boulder County this year.
Ballots begin to be mailed to voters on June 4. In order to participate in
a party primary election, a voter must be registered with that party or be
registered as an unaffiliated voter. If a voter is registered with one of
Colorado’s minor political parties: American Constitution, Green, Libertarian,
or Unity Parties, and wishes to change or withdraw their party affiliation (to
unaffiliated or to a major party) in order to participate in either the Democratic
or Republican Party primaries, they must do so no later than Tuesday, May 29.
Tuesday is also
the deadline for Unaffiliated Voters who wish to pre-select their ballot
preference and receive only that ballot. However, this is not a requirement.
All active, eligible unaffiliated voters who do not pre-select a ballot
preference will simply be mailed both the Democratic and Republican Party
ballots and will be instructed to only vote and return one.
Boulder County voters are also encouraged to periodically check their voter
registration to make sure it is up-to-date, especially if they have moved or
have not voted in several years.
Voter registration can be verified online at www.GoVoteColorado.com. Voters can also visit the website to register
to vote, view ballot content, and learn more about 2018 elections. They can
also call 303-413-7740 for more information or visit one of three Boulder
County Clerk & Recorder’s office branches: 1750 33rd St. in Boulder, 529
Coffman St. in Longmont; or 1376 Miners Drive in Lafayette. Office hours are 8
a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
