Good question! Here’s the scoop: DWR launched this new subscription-based publication to share Water Plan-related information updates more quickly. This eNews alert will be sent on an as-needed basis to subscribers only, and will include links to CaliforniaWaterPlan.com where more detailed information can be found. Those currently subscribed to the weekly “California Water Plan eNews” are automatically subscribed to “Water Plan 2028 Engagement.” If you would like, you can update your DWR newsletter subscription preferences on our subscriber portal.

DWR is convening the first 2028 California Water Plan Advisory Committee meeting on Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14, 2026 (two half days). The Advisory Committee provides recommendations to DWR and informs development of the plan. The Advisory Committee is an appointed body, and all committee meetings are open to the public. An agenda will be available soon on this page.
The first half of the meeting will occur from 1 to 5 pm on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel located at 2001 Point West Way, Sacramento CA 95815. The second half of the meeting will take place from 8:30 am to 12 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the same location.
