CDFW’s Landscape Conservation Planning Program has released the Wildlife Connectivity Advance Mitigation Guidelines (Guidelines). The Guidelines implement legislation from SB790 that became effective on January 1, 2022 and was codified as Fish and Game Code section 1955 - 1958. They help implement CDFW’s Connectivity Advance Mitigation (CAM) subprogram. These guidelines are a supplement to the Conservation and Mitigation Banking (Banking) Program and Mitigation Credit Agreements (MCAs), a part of the Regional Conservation Investment Strategy (RCIS) Program.
The Guidelines include appendices and six additional documents that act as templates for sponsors. These resources and others are all available on the Connectivity Advance Mitigation (CAM) webpage. The Banking guidelines have also been updated to reference the Guidelines.
The next phase of this subprogram is for CDFW to begin our Stakeholder Engagement Pilot Period. During this time, CDFW will work with sponsors on connectivity pilot projects and engage in outreach with stakeholders.
CDFW will be hosting two webinars on October 4th, 2024 to help the public better understand our various programs and how they intersect.
Please email MitConnect@wildlife.ca.gov with questions or if you are interested in proposing a pilot project.
Thank you for your interest in Connectivity Advance Mitigation.
