Reminder: Draft Wildlife Connectivity Advance Mitigation Guidelines Public Comment Period Closing 1/16
The 90-day public comment period to review the draft Wildlife Connectivity Advance Mitigation Guidelines (Guidelines) ends at 5 PM on January 16th, 2024.
To submit comments:
- Provide a comment letter. to mitconnect@wildlife.ca.gov by Tuesday, January 16th at 5 PM.
- Clearly label the page, section, and paragraph number.
- Identify “red flags” or key issues.
- Identify text/concepts that are unclear.
- Provide suggested edits (what) with rationale (why) for changes.
The Guidelines apply to CDFW’s Conservation and Mitigation Banking Program and Mitigation Credit Agreements (MCAs), a part of the Regional Conservation Investment Strategy (RCIS) Program. The Guidelines implement legislation from SB790 that became effective on January 1, 2022 and was codified as Fish and Game Code section 1955 - 1958.
Once the public comment period has ended, CDFW will review the comments and finalize the Guidelines. Please note that CDFW is not required to respond to comments concerning the draft Guidelines.
