Draft Wildlife Connectivity Advance Mitigation Guidelines Available for Public Comment (90 days)
CDFW’s Landscape Conservation Planning Program has released the draft Wildlife Connectivity Advance Mitigation Guidelines (Guidelines) for public comment. The Guidelines apply to the Conservation and Mitigation Banking Program and Mitigation Credit Agreements (MCAs), a part of the Regional Conservation Investment Strategy (RCIS) Program. The Guidelines implement legislation from SB790 that became effective on January 1, 2022 and was codified as Fish and Game Code section 1955 - 1958.

Provide a comment letter to mitconnect@wildlife.ca.gov by Tuesday, January 16th at 5 PM.

Clearly label the page, section, and paragraph number.

Identify “red flags” or key issues.

Identify text/concepts that are unclear.

Provide suggested edits (what) with rationale (why) for changes.
Please feel free to email us at MitConnect@wildlife.ca.gov with questions during the comment period. Once the public comment period has ended, CDFW will review the comments and finalize the Guidelines. Please note that CDFW is not required to respond to comments concerning the draft Guidelines.
Reminder that we will host a virtual public meeting (register here) on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, from 1:30 to 3:00 PM to discuss the Guidelines. If you cannot attend, the meeting will be recorded and made available upon request.
