While on motorcycle patrol in the Truckhaven Area, the team stopped to check in with some visitors, and a young man all of four or five years old shared what he discovered: a desert horned lizard (Phrynosoma platyrhinos). Chief Ranger Ahlberg took some time to explain to the group the defense mechanism used by this type of lizard: Don’t move and wait for the threat to leave!
