Dear Neighbor,
After months of major construction, Yuba Water Agency’s Colgate Tunnel and Penstock Improvement Project, the largest capital improvement project our agency has undertaken in recent history, is winding down.
In-tunnel repairs, reinforcements and debris removal are complete, and the tunnel and penstock have been reassembled. In the weeks ahead, Yuba Water will focus on refilling the tunnel and penstock with water and begin the careful process of returning our New Colgate Powerhouse to service.
Starting Monday, Feb. 9, you can expect an increase in traffic along Lake Francis Road as crews continue to break down work sites and remove large equipment associated with the project over the next few weeks. Expect several trucks a day, and occasional traffic control as necessary.
