Oktoberfest 2021

The San Ramon Historic Foundation is hosting Oktoberfest at Forest Home Farms on Saturday, October 2nd. Oktoberfest will feature German food, music, dancing, and, of course, beer tastings from five different breweries. For more information and tickets, visit SRHF.org. Culture in the Community

CULTURE IN THE COMMUNITY CELEBRATION

Join the festivities at the 4th annual Culture in the Community Celebration. This community event will bring families from different backgrounds together to share and celebrate our cultures and nationalities. Enjoy cultural performances including dance and music from all over the world. There will also be interactive games and activities to experience. San Ramon Symphonic Band

SAN RAMON SYMPHONIC BAND FALL CONCERT

Enjoy wonderful music on stage at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center. The San Ramon Symphonic Band has been in existence for over 30 years and has over 30 musicians! Concerts are enjoyable for both adults and children.

 

Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt

Last year’s Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt was a huge hit, so we had to do it again! In mid-October be on the lookout for information on how and where to participate in the Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt. Participate in the hunt, find the hidden scarecrows, and engage in the activities. This is a fun family-friendly event that you don’t want to miss!

 

Upcycle Your HeART Out

UpCycle your HeART Out is a new temporary public art project that utilizes donated election signs which will be repurposed and upcycled by over fifteen talented local artists. Artists who have been selected for the project will be drawing or painting their original designs onto the signs using a wide variety of mediums. These original works of art will create a temporary outdoor exhibit for the community to enjoy. The exhibit will start in Central Park and then move to the Dougherty Station Community Center Courtyard.

Please join us to kick off the exhibit with an opening reception on Friday, October 22nd  from 5:00-6:00 pm at Central Park near the Bollinger Canyon Parking Lot.

Shimabukuro’s wholly unique approach to the ukulele started early. As a youngster growing up in Honolulu, Hawaii, Shimabukuro started playing the instrument at the age of four, learning the basics from his mother. Since his touring career began with a viral ukulele rendition of “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” on YouTube, Jake Shimabukuro has been continuously entertaining audiences. His latest album, The Greatest Day, features some of his most imaginative and adventuresome playing yet, with original material and reinvented versions of hits like The Beatles’ “Eleanor Rigby,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Jimi Hendrix’s “If 6 Was 9.”

HOLIDAY BOUTIQUE

Local crafters and artists will come together with the San Ramon Senior Center Boutique Ladies for the annual San Ramon Senior Center Foundation’s Holiday Boutique. Shop early for your holiday gifts and décor. There will be 45- 50 vendors selling all types of handmade items, including knitted and crocheted clothing for infants, children, and adults, as well as hats, tote bags, blankets, kitchen items, jewelry, home and holiday decorations, and many other items you won’t want to miss! Proceeds will go to the San Ramon Senior Center Foundation and Meals on Wheels. Admission and parking are FREE!
