COVID-19 Update: County Tier Metrics, Updated Mass Quarantine Order, Arts Survey & More

This week, Contra Costa County remains in the purple tier in the State's Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has updated the county's Mass Quarantine Order to include a new exception for individuals who have been fully vaccinated.
The next City Update on COVID-19 will streamed live on YouTube on Friday, March 26 at 9 a.m., and the San Ramon Parks & Community Services Department is seeking community feedback for current and future arts programs and opportunities.
Below are the latest updates for the San Ramon community.
Contra Costa County Tier Metrics
This week, Contra Costa County remains in the purple tier in the State of California's Blueprint for a Safer Economy. As of 3/4, the County Metrics include: 10.7 new daily COVID-19 cases per 100,000 residents (with an adjusted case rate of 9.1 for tier assignment), a 3.2% test positivity rate (7-day average), and 5.3% health equity quartile positivity rate.
For Contra Costa County to move to the red tier, the following three criteria must be met for two consecutive weeks:
- Case Rate: Less than 7 new cases per 100,000 residents
- Positivity Rate: Less than 8% of tests countywide are positive
- Equity Metric: Less than 8% of tests for residents of the lowest quartile of the Healthy Places Index census tracts are positive

Contra Costa County Updates Mass Quarantine Order
Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) has updated its Mass Quarantine Order to include a new exception from the quarantine requirement for specified persons who have been fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccine, based on updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
According to CCHS Home Quarantine Instructions for Close Contacts, if you have been vaccinated and had close contact to someone with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, you do not need to quarantine if:
- You are fully vaccinated (it has been 2 weeks or more after getting the second dose in a 2-dose vaccine series, or 2 weeks or more after getting one dose of a single-dose vaccine series) AND
- You are within 3 months of getting your last dose in the vaccine series AND
- You have not developed any symptoms since you had your close contact.

Live City Update on COVID-19: Friday, March 26 at 9 a.m.
The next City Update, hosted by City of San Ramon staff, will be streamed live on YouTube on Friday, March 26 at 9 a.m., with updates on COVID-19.
Guests include Contra Costa County Supervisor Candace Andersen, and UCSF’s Dr. Patrick Joseph.
Residents can submit questions for panelists by emailing info@sanramon.ca.gov and including “City Update” in the subject line. Guests will answer as many questions as time allows.
All City Updates will be recorded and available to watch on the City’s website and YouTube channel following the live event.

Community Survey: San Ramon Arts Programs and Opportunities
The San Ramon Parks & Community Services Department is seeking valuable community feedback for current and future arts programs and opportunities. We hope to gain insight on how to best serve the needs and interests of the community specifically pertaining to the arts. We are seeking feedback from ALL community stakeholders. This survey will take less than 10 minutes to complete, and will close on Sunday, March 14.
