Virtual Mayor's Breakfast: Friday, June 19

This week’s Virtual Mayor's Breakfast, hosted by San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson, will be streamed live on YouTube on Friday, June 19 at 9 a.m., with members of the San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition sharing information about this community-based group.

Guests include San Ramon Valley Diversity Coalition members Mitchell Hopson, Kathy Chiverton, and Jacquie Guzzo; along with San Ramon City Manager Joe Gorton; and San Ramon Police Chief Craig Stevens.

Dear San Ramon Community,

In addition to Tuesday’s updated Public Health Order, which allowed hair salons and barbershops to re-open on June 17, Contra Costa County Health Services has released an updated timeline for additional activities re-opening in the coming weeks, including nail salons, gyms, and movie theaters.

 

Contra Costa County Re-Opening Timeline July 17

The updated re-opening timeline includes:

As of June 5

  • Outdoor dining
  • Outdoor swimming pools
  • Dog parks
  • Religious services
  • Overnight single family camping

As of June 17

  • Hair salons and barbershops

July 1

  • Personal services not involving the face (massage, nail salons, tattoo, body waxing, etc.)
  • Indoor dining
  • Bars (with or without food)
  • Gyms and fitness centers
  • Limited indoor leisure (arcades, billiards, bowling alleys)
  • Indoor museums
  • Hotels (for tourism & individual travel)

July 15

  • Personal services involving the face (skin care, permanent makeup, facial waxing, etc.)
  • Movie theaters
  • Card rooms

July/August

  • Schools, including primary, secondary, and higher education (contact your local school district for start date)


As the dates above approach, additional re-opening guidelines are expected from Contra Costa County and the State of California. Updates will be posted on the City of San Ramon's website, and shared via email and social media.

Throughout re-opening, residents should continue to social distance, wear cloth face coverings in public, enhance hand hygiene, and stay home when sick.

June is Dine Out San Ramon Month

Outdoor dining is now permitted with modifications under the June 5 Public Health Order from Contra Costa County. On Tuesday, June 9, the San Ramon City Council issued a proclamation declaring June "Dine Out San Ramon" Month, encouraging residents to dine locally and support San Ramon restaurants. A number of local restaurants are beginning to offer social-distanced outdoor dining options—check out the list below.

Lap Swim Now Open at Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center by Reservation


The City of San Ramon is now offering lap swimming at the Dougherty Valley Aquatic Center, with swim times available by reservation. The City will continue to work with Contra Costa County Health Services, monitor the program closely, and make modifications as necessary. Modified Summer Camps Now in Session


San Ramon Summer Camps have begun, and are open for registration throughout the summer. All camps will be offered with modifications to comply with the most recent county, state and CDC guidelines.

Run San Ramon: Virtual Event July 1–11, 2020


The annual 4th of July Run San Ramon 5k, 10k & Fastest Mile will be a virtual event this year. Presented by the City of San Ramon and Chevron, the 2020 Virtual Run San Ramon is celebrating its 28th consecutive year, and this year residents can start their Independence Day celebrations with a run a walk to create a stronger community. Enjoy a 5k, 10k, or 1 mile route of your choice and post your time online between July 1–11. All participants will receive a special virtual run edition short-sleeve commemorative shirt, race bib, and finisher medal, must-have addition to the Run San Ramon collection.
