COVID-19 Update: Upcoming Re-Openings & Virtual Events

The most recent Public Health Order issued by Contra Costa County Health Services took effect on Friday, June 5.
The order allows the following businesses and activities to re-open, with modifications:
- Outdoor dining
- Outdoor swimming pools
- Dog parks
- Outdoor picnic and barbecue spaces
- Single-family overnight camping
- Religious services

Contra Costa County Health Services has also released a re-opening timeline for additional businesses and activities in Contra Costa County.
June 17
- Hair salons and barbershops
July 1
- Indoor dining
- Bars (with or without food)
- Gyms and fitness centers
- Limited indoor leisure (arcades, billiards, bowling alleys)
- Indoor museums
- Hotels (for tourism & individual travel)
July/August
- Schools, including primary, secondary, and higher education (contact your local school district for start date)
As the dates above approach, additional re-opening guidelines are expected from Contra Costa County and the State of California. Updates will be posted on the City of San Ramon's website, and shared via email and social media.
Throughout re-opening, residents should continue to social distance, wear cloth face coverings in public, enhance hand hygiene, and stay home when sick.
Safer Social Interactions
Contra Costa Health Services has also released Guidelines for Safer Social Interactions. Read the tips for reducing your risk of getting or spreading COVID-19 as modified in-person interactions begin to resume.
June is Dine Out San Ramon Month
Under the June 5 Health Order from Contra Costa County, outdoor dining is now permitted with modifications. On Tuesday, June 9, the San Ramon City Council issued a proclamation declaring June "Dine Out San Ramon" Month, encouraging residents to dine locally and support San Ramon restaurants.
Virtual Mayor's Breakfast: Friday, June 12
This week’s community update, hosted by San Ramon Mayor Bill Clarkson, will be streamed live on YouTube on Friday, June 12 at 9 a.m. Guests include Joe Gorton, San Ramon City Manager; Candace Andersen, Contra Costa County District 2 Supervisor; Tracey Lewis Taylor, Stanford Health Care - ValleyCare COO; Ann Lucena, San Ramon Regional Medical Center CEO; and Dr. Patrick Joseph, Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine, University of California.

Modified Summer Camps Now in Session
San Ramon Summer Camps have begun, and are open for registration throughout the summer. All camps will be offered with modifications to comply with the most recent county, state and CDC guidelines.

Local Libraries Offering Front Door Service Beginning Monday, June 15
Contra Costa County has announced that, beginning Monday, June 15, Front Door Service will be offered at 23 community libraries, including the San Ramon Library and Dougherty Station Library. The service will allow patrons to pick up books, DVDs and audiobooks placed on hold through the Library’s website.

Public Hearing for CityWalk Draft Environmental Impact Report: Tuesday, June 16
The public comment period for the CityWalk Master Plan Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) is now in effect through July 2, 2020 at 5 p.m. A public hearing will be held by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at 7 p.m. as a Teleconference Meeting.

Run San Ramon: Virtual Event July 1–11, 2020
The annual 4th of July Run San Ramon 5k, 10k & Fastest Mile will be a virtual event this year. Presented by the City of San Ramon and Chevron, the 2020 Virtual Run San Ramon is celebrating its 28th consecutive year, and this year residents can start their Independence Day celebrations with a run a walk to create a stronger community. Enjoy a 5k, 10k, or 1 mile route of your choice and post your time online between July 1–11. All participants will receive a special virtual run edition short-sleeve commemorative shirt, race bib, and finisher medal, must-have addition to the Run San Ramon collection.
