SAN RAMON CAMP CENTRAL

San Ramon’s Camp Central is an award winning flexible full or half day summer program that provides fun, educational and active experiences for children all summer long. Each week you choose a morning and/or afternoon camp as well as the extended care options that you need. Camp Central offers many different camps to choose from including Visual and Performing Arts, Sports, and Enrichment. 

Camp Central is offered at two facilities this summer. Within Central Park, utilizing the San Ramon Community Center and Iron Horse Gym, and at Dougherty Station utilizing the Community Center and Windemere Ranch Middle School.

Here are a few summer camp highlights: 

Adventure Club

1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Adventure Club has all new weekly adventures. Each adventure will thrill campers with exciting games, creative crafts and wacky activities. This summer, get your kids outside playing to improve their social, emotional and physical growth. There's no better way than at Adventure Club. Explore all the different experiences that Adventure Club has to offer this summer!  All activities are held outdoors and led by trained, experienced staff in Central Park. Campers may be split into age groups for activities. Activities may change depending on weather and scheduling availability. Only $135 per week!

Adventure Club Tuesday/Thursday Option

Weeks 2-9, June 13th-August 3rd (Tuesday & Thursdays Only), 12:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Want to get out a couple days a week during the summer? Here's a great option to attend the awesome activities at Adventure Club on Tuesday and Thursdays from June 13 - August 3 (Weeks 2-9). You can also use this camp to create a full day of camp for your child who is attending Crazy 4 Sports on Tuesday and Thursday Mornings.  Includes Noon Extended Care and staff will escort campers to and from their camps.

New! Critter College

Week 7, July 17-21, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Kids will get hands on experience learning about small animals. Topics covered will include habitats, diet, debunking myths, along with choosing the right pet for your family and learning some cool critter facts!

New! Exploring Alternative Energy

Week 1, June 5-9, 9:00am-12:00pm at Central Park Week 8, July 24–28, 9:00am-12:00pm at Dougherty Station

We'll explore different types of alternative energies - renewable, kinetic, and potential. We'll build using Engino, K'Nex, littleBits and LEGO®. We'll measure and create energy. We'll build creatures and vehicles using solar cells and build wind powered structures. Whether you've seen a grist mill or not, we'll build one to see how hydro power works. All the builds are to have some fun experiencing different ways energy is harnessed.

New! Animals & STEM

Week 2, June 12–6, 9:00am-12:00pm at Central Park

Week 8, July 24–28, 1:00-4:00pm at Dougherty Station

Love animals? Love to build? We will do both! Using K'Nex, we'll build animals to learn how they live together. What are their differences and their life cycle process? We'll discover not all bugs are bugs. Or build a tadpole and a frog. We will read, build, color and write. Add in some art. The kids will partner-up to practice teamwork and develop social skills.

New! Fun Drums & Guitar Camp

Week 1, June 5-9, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Week 8, July 24-28, 1:00-4:00pm at Dougherty Station

The first part of camp starts with a drumming intensive with body percussion, movement and vocal rhythms. We will explore African, Arabic and Latin rhythms on the hand drums, bells, shakers and sticks. Fun drumming games too! Second part of this camp will show the hand and finger technique on the guitar fretboard and strings. We will learn the notes and songs in a fun process that will be combined with percussion. No acoustic guitar needed to join this camp, but bring one if you have one! This is a great beginner level camp and musical introduction for kids to discover music in a fun way!

New! Creative Art Inspired by Disney

Week 2, June 12-16, 9:00am-12:00pm at Central Park

When you wish upon a star...Yes! It could be Cinderella, Snow White, Monster's Inc characters or simply the little mermaid, Ariel. Let's discover them and capture their forms. Let's create these stars using storyboards, acetate drawing and painting or even capture them 3D. Let us breathe some life into these stars! All materials included.

On The Ball Sports Basketball Camp

Week 1, June 5-9, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Week 4, June 26-30, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Week 6, July 10-14, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

This camp is directed by college basketball coach Justin Carter and his talented staff. Coach Carter brings with him a wealth of teaching experience (16 years of coaching experience at various levels including 12 at the collegiate level). Coach Carter and/or his staff will cover offensive & defensive concepts in addition to 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 games. All participants will take part in drills and games each day and will receive a shirt at the conclusion of the camp.

Basketball Competition Camp

Week 7, July 27-31, 1:00-4:00pm at Central Park

Tired of all the drills? Come enjoy Justin Carter and staff in 5 days of nothing but games and contests!!! Put the skills you learned in our other camp to use as we play 5 on 5, 3 on 3 and 1 on 1 games. And do you like contest? Every day we will have various skill contests for you to showcase your talents. All campers will receive a camp t-shirt.

Full Day Basketball Shooting & Competition Camp Week 7, July 17-21, 9:00am-4:00pm at Central Park

Combine the Shooting and Competition Camps into an all-day program. Lunch will be 12-1 and will be supervised by camp staff.
