  • Visit the Tractor Barn and see restored antique tractors and engines.

January 9 – Calling Cards
Learn about the history of calling cards, what they were for, different signs and meanings, and make your own calling card to take home.

January 16 – Winter Game Day
Come by the farm to play some old fashioned games inside the walnut barn. Learn about and play some games that were popular with children over 100 years ago.

January 23 - Chicken Tales
Meet the chickens that live on the farm, learn how they provided for pioneer families and how people are bringing farming to their home with backyard chickens. Make a chicken craft to take home.

January 30 - Groundhog Day:
Is it Spring yet? Explore Groundhog Day's shadowy history as well as interesting facts about the custom. Make a groundhog craft to take home.

Vicki Lawrence, best known for her Emmy Award-winning work on the long-running "The Carol Burnett Show," will present her "two-woman" act entitled: Vicki Lawrence and Mama: A Two-Woman Show! Vicki Lawrence spent 11 years with Carol Burnett, earning one Emmy Award and five nominations. She received a gold record as a recording artist for her hit single, "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" and later went on to star in her own TV series, "Mama's Family." Lawrence's many stage credits include productions of Carousel; Send Me No Flowers; No, No, Nanette; My Fat Friend; Chapter Two; Twigs; Hello, Dolly!; Special Occasions; I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on The Road; and Annie Get Your Gun. Her autobiography is entitled "Vicki!: The True Life Adventures of Miss Fireball."

Mommy & Me Dance Class

A perfect first dance class with mommy! Young dancers will learn how to use movement as self expression, while developing motor, social and coordination skills. This parent participation class includes: creative dance movement, memory games, scarf dancing, exploration with musical instruments and obstacle courses.

Daddy Daughter Dance

Participating in the Daddy Daughter Dance is a special opportunity for Fathers and their daughters to spend quality time together while learning a dance to be performed on stage at Miss Christie's Annual Dance Recital at the Dougherty Performing Arts Center. Rehearsals are once a month, starting in January for one hour, plus a dress rehearsal on stage. Choreography will be simple so anyone can learn it and still have fun! Participants are required to be concurrently enrolled in one of Miss Christie's regular dance classes. Granddads, Uncles, Big Brothers, Cousins, or Guardians who are 18 or older are invited to perform. Recital is June 11th. Price listed is per daughter; only daughters need to get officially registered.


Bollywood Dance

Do your kids love to move to the beat of the music? Participants will have fun while learning Bollywood dance styles, all while getting healthy and developing a lifelong habit of exercising. In addition to Bollywood Dance, we will also incorporate Classical Indian Dance steps. Be it staying in touch with your own culture or exploring a new culture, this class will give your kids plenty to learn and exhibit. Moves will be low impact, age appropriate, easy to learn and be filled with fun. Participant's confidence, stage presence and social skills will improve with class culminating with a small performance for friends and family.


Pop Star Dance

Bring your dreams of being a pop star to life by learning songs and dance moves to the music of Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, One Direction, Ariana Grande and much more! Elements of Jazz and hip-hop dance will be taught along with an upbeat pop star dance routine. There will be a final performance for friends and family on the last day of class. Jazz shoes are required.


Drumming

Learn drumming today! Instructor John Waller teaches hand drumming, drum basics, African drumming and more all over the Bay Area. He provides all the drums for class so participants do not need to purchase their own. Come feel the beat!


NEW! Basic Anime & Manga Cartooning

This popular style of drawing is very dramatic with lots of engaging characters involved in a variety of adventures. You will learn the basics, using existing characters and the techniques needed to create your own!


Ceramics & Sculpture- ASE

Learn to turn simple shapes into masterpieces! The basic principles of hand building, sculpting and glazing will be taught.New and unique creations will be explored in each class.


Young Performers: Disney's The Aristocats, Kids!

Join this fun-filled musical theatre class and learn singing, acting and dancing. Skill building, stage confidence, and focus on the ensemble will be emphasized. Final dress rehearsal and performances take place at the Dougherty Valley Performing Arts Center.

Little Dribblers (3-4 Year Olds)

Designed to introduce the sport of basketball and develop motor skills and eye-hand coordination through fun drills and games. Young hoopsters will learn the fundamentals of bouncing, catching, and shooting. Low hoops and small basketballs will be used.

Little Dribblers I (5-6 Year Olds)

Designed to introduce the sport of basketball and develop motor skills and eye-hand coordination through fun drills and games. Young hoopsters will learn the fundamentals of bouncing, catching, and shooting. Low hoops and small basketballs will be used.

Little Dribblers II (5-6 Year Olds)

This class develops a youngster's knowledge and ability to participate in an age appropriate game of basketball! Building upon skills learned from Dribblers I, children will be introduced to Man to Man and Zone defense basics. With scrimmages held each class, this will be a great introduction to our Youth Hoops program and its rules.

Little Dribblers III (7-8 Year Olds)

This class develops a hoopster's knowledge and ability to participate in an age appropriate game of basketball! Children will be introduced to defensive and offensive skills and concepts. 3 on 3 and 5 on 5 scrimmages each class will introduce the flow and excitement of a real basketball game!


Youth Flag Football League

Youth FLAG football provides the opportunity for kids and families to become involved in football through participation early in life. It also helps develop the first phase of player and coach development by teaching football skills at the earliest age. The league uses volunteer coaches and encourages the involvement of parents. The emphasis of the league is on fundamental skill development, every player participating, and having FUN! Teams will have training camps the first two weeks; games will start on the third week of the league. Once games start, practices will be held for the first 45 minutes with the game following at the top of the hour. All participants will receive a reversible jersey. All participants must attend the mandatory skills clinic. This will help determine team placement. League packets will be emailed on March 23. Registration Deadline is Thursday, March 3. Flash Mob

A Flash Mob is a spontaneous public dance performance that appears seemingly out of nowhere! This class is open to all who want to dance and perform regardless of prior dance experience. Be a member of a great dance flash mob! You will learn fun, simple choreography and perform Monday, May 30 (Memorial Day) at a San Ramon location (to be disclosed at first class). Join other members of the community and have a blast! No dance experience necessary. Children under 13 years old must sign up with an adult to participate. Fun Family participation is encouraged! Children, Adults and Seniors all welcome! Choose 4 rehearsals to attend based on your schedule - Fridays or Saturdays or a combination of both. 


NEW! Teen Anime & Manga Cartooning

Continue your journey into the Japanese art of anime/manga taking your characters and stories to the next level. This class will focus on element of graphic design, character and creature development & basic anatomy.


TweenProv

Learn the basic skills of improvisation in a fun and supportive environment. We will learn about timing, building character, story structure, and more improv games than you can shake a stick at!


Improv High

Perform improv in a fun and imaginative space. You'll make improv 'movies' and form teams for competition play! Practice all of the things you learned at your school or wanted to learn.


NEW: Enhancing Financial Literacy for Youth

This financial education program is designed to help young people further develop their financial knowledge on age appropriate topics such as saving for short and long term goals, basic budgeting income and expenses, understanding credit and debt, earning and compound interest, and the ABC's of the stock market. By the end of the class students will have identified a financial goal and created a plan for achieving it. Parents can register and attend with their student at a special rate!

Babysitting for Beginners

The class you have been looking for to develop all the skills needed to be a trusted and responsible babysitter.  Learn about child development, meal and bedtime strategies, discipline, how to get jobs, and ways to make babysitting fun for you and the kids.  Basic first aid, general safety, and what to do in an emergency will also be covered. Students should bring a snack, lunch and water bottle to class.

Future Leaders & Recreation Leaders in Training Program

Put your free time to use this summer and learn the skills to work a summer job for San Ramon. Attend a six week training session and earn three weeks of valuable work experience in San Ramon camp programs. This program will allow participants hands on experience assisting Recreation Leaders in a summer camp program.  Participants will be responsible for meeting at designated sites and will be given a weekly schedule. Participants are required to attend all six classes to be eligible as a camp volunteer.  All eligible volunteers will be required to volunteer for three separate weeks of summer camps during the summer break in order to complete the program.  Participants will receive a work shirt upon completion of classes and recommendation for future employment based on performance at summer camps. Volunteer shifts will be available for sign up at the first class. Opportunities to assist with special needs participants at the camps will be available throughout summer if interested.

In this class students will learn the importance of balanced meals and kitchen safety and clean up.  The class will feature different types of cuisine.  Explore and eat your way through the world with delicacies from Latin America, Italy, China, Greece (the country not greasy food) and Brazil.  We will learn their customs and cultures as we cook.  Campers will take home their own cook book at the end of the course. Campers should bring an apron and snack to camp.
