This month, the CARS Project Team is pleased to introduce our Training Lead, Jacqui Palmer. Jacqui is a seasoned leader and practitioner in the fields of Organizational Change Management and Learning & Development, with extensive experience managing change and learning strategies for global firms. Currently she is applying her exceptional talents to creating the CARS training program for multiple learning audiences, including Political Reform Division (PRD) staff, data filers, PRD partner agencies, and third-party software vendors.
With Jacqui’s deep understanding of the software development lifecycle coupled with her expertise in learning principles and technology, we are fortunate to get the benefit of her efforts for the stakeholders of the new CARS solution.

CARS Monthly External Stakeholder Meetings – The series of meetings occurs on the second Wednesday of each month to keep stakeholders informed about the CARS Project and to answer questions. The next meeting is on August 13, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and will include a functionality preview.

Third Party Software Vendor Meetings – These meetings are generally conducted every other Tuesday to share updates, foster collaboration, and strengthen our partnerships. The next meeting is on July 22, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Program Increment I (PI I) – As we begin July, the PI I is nearing 60% complete. System testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities for PI IA are scheduled to start this month.

CAL-ACCESS Replacement System (CARS) Joint Legislative Budget Committee (JLBC) Report – The CARS JLBC Report for fiscal year 24/25, Quarter 4 will be submitted July 15.

How can I be more informed about coming changes and new system functionality?
The best thing you can do is join us for the monthly External Stakeholder meetings! These meetings include functionality previews and Q&A sessions. Find information and links on our CARS Homepage, or sign up for email updates. Look out for our regularly scheduled Third Party Software Vendor meetings too, if that applies to you.
