Come meet your Solano County Farm Bureau members and elected officials
Join me and Supervisor Mitch Mashburn on Nov. 15 as we host an open house with the Solano County Farm Bureau at the newly opened Hyatt House Vacaville.
This is a great opportunity for those unfamiliar with the Farm Bureau and its members to come ask questions and get to know your local Ag producers and the organization that works to protect and advance the social, economic and educational interests of the farmers of Solano County. In addition, local elected officials and/or their representatives will also be on hand to answer questions relevant to residents.
In 1915, the Solano County Farm Bureau became the fifth Farm Bureau to organize in the state. Farm bureaus are defined as an organization of farmers and ranchers who combine to promote agriculture through cooperative study of farm conditions. The Farm Bureau has also been said to have taken on the role of a “rural chamber of commerce,” its members often leading the charge for better roads or policy changes at the local, state and federal level. The Solano County Farm Bureau also supports local education with its Ag in the Classroom program, scholarships and grants for high school students and undergraduates looking to pursue a career in agriculture, and more
The event will begin at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at the Hyatt House Vacaville, 2481 East Monte Vista Avenue. Please RSVP by scanning the QR code with the camera app on your cell phone, or e-mail JMVasquez@SolanoCounty.com.
