Redwood City — San Mateo County is throwing a free community fair this Saturday, and everyone’s invited.
Timed to celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month, the Community Resource Fair will bring together dozens of local organizations, County departments and cultural performers for an event that’s both helpful and fun.
Representatives from about three dozen community groups and public agencies will be on hand to provide information and offer services ranging from housing assistance to health care, elder care to youth programs.
The family-friendly fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the courtyard at 500 County Center in downtown Redwood City.
Treats from food trucks and ice cream will be available for purchase.
Performers include RAHITI: Hālau Hula O Keli’ikoanuiokeao, which will share the art of traditional Polynesian dance, and the FAGOGO Cultural Arts Program, which brings Pacific Island stories to life through movement and music and a live DJ.
Among the groups expected to take part are El Concilio of San Mateo County, Puente de la Costa Sur, Peninsula Family Service, Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County/Libre Program and many more.
They’ll join County teams from the Department of Emergency Management, Office of Community Affairs, Office of Labor Standards Enforcement and more for on-the-spot information.
