San Mateo — Bringing together health care providers and public health professionals, San Mateo County Health will host the 2025 Peninsula Infectious Diseases Conference on Sep. 9-10, 2025, to explore the latest clinical and public health guidance for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of many of the infections that affect the Bay Area.
Areas of focus include measles, long COVID, pediatric tuberculosis, Candida auris and other health care – associated infections, along with updates about maternal immunization during pregnancy, the role of the public health laboratory system in managing threats to public health and the impact of climate changes on emerging infectious diseases.
This free, in-person educational event is presented by County Health’s Communicable Disease Control & Prevention Program, with support from Health Plan of San Mateo, Sequoia Healthcare District, San Mateo County Health Foundation, San Mateo County Medical Association and Stanford Medicine.
Held at the College of San Mateo Theater (700 W Hillsdale Boulevard in San Mateo), the conference is open to physicians, nurses, epidemiologists and other health care professionals across the Bay Area. Under the theme “Bridging the Gap: Integrating Clinical Care and Public Health to Improve Patient Outcomes,” the conference will feature presentations by leading experts from the California Department of Public Health, Stanford University, UC Davis, UCSF and San Mateo County Health.
