Building Preparedness: Public Invited to Meet with Local Officials on Tsunami Warning, Ways to Boost Preparedness
Redwood City – Members of the public will have the opportunity to ask San Mateo County emergency officials about the local response to the Dec. 5 tsunami warning this Thursday (Dec. 19) in Half Moon Bay.
The meeting will bring together the public and officials from the San Mateo County Department of Emergency Management and first responders to share information and explore ways to increase preparedness for future incidents.
Thursday’s 6 p.m. meeting at Mavericks House caps a series of seven information-gathering sessions hosted by San Mateo County Supervisor Ray Mueller, whose district includes the coast from Pacifica to the Santa Cruz County border. Mueller on Thursday will share community responses.
