The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met in-person with remote public participation available via Zoom on May 21, 2024. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:
PLANNING AND BUILDING
- Conduct a public hearing regarding an ordinance amending Chapter 22.5, Accessory Dwelling Units, of the Zoning Regulations to comply with recent changes to State law, adopt additional fire standards, and make minor amendments for clarity and consistency:
- A) Open the public hearing
- B) Close the public hearing
- C) Adopt an ordinance amending the County Ordinance Code, Division VI, Part One (Zoning Regulations) to revise the existing Chapter 22.5 (Accessory Dwelling Units) in order to comply with State law, to adopt additional fire standards, and make minor amendments for clarity and consistency, previously introduced at the Planning Commission meeting on April 10, 2024, and waive reading of the ordinance in its entirety.
COUNTY EXECUTIVE
- Recommendation to:
- A) Measure K: Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Planned Parenthood Mar Monte for the purchase of technology and medical equipment and staff training, for the term June 1, 2024 through June 1, 2025, in an amount not to exceed $394,402, and authorizing the County Executive, or designee, to execute the grant agreement; and
- B) Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) appropriating $394,402 from Measure K Reserves to Non Departmental Services for the second tranche of funding for the County Action Plan to Support Women’s Reproductive Freedom and Healthcare Privacy.
- Measure K: Adopt a resolution authorizing a one-time grant of district-discretionary Measure K funds, not to exceed $350,000, to First 5 San Mateo County to support the Baby Bonus Program pilot, and authorizing the County Executive, or designee, to execute the grant agreement.
- Adopt a resolution authorizing:
- A) The President of the Board of Supervisors to execute an agreement with Interstate Grading & Paving, Inc. as the grading and paving contractor entity for the Stone Pine Cove Farm Labor Housing Project in the amount of $11,463,000; and
- B) The County Executive Officer, or designee, to execute subsequent change orders that modify the terms and conditions of the agreement and increasing the contract value by 2.5 percent or $286,575 in aggregate for a maximum not to exceed contract value of $11,749,575.
HUMAN SERVICES AGENCY
- Adopt a resolution authorizing an amendment to the agreement with Samaritan House to provide non-congregate homeless shelter services at El Camino House, to add $1,730,235 in funds, for a revised total obligation not to exceed $5,016,904 and to extend the term through June 30, 2025.
