Equity Updates Header

Dear Equity Partner -

I appreciate your commitment to creating a more inclusive county for all that call San Mateo County home, a place of work, play or learning. Especially since this work is often emotionally heavy, we must remember to make time to celebrate the diverse experiences of our community. This June, the County of San Mateo will celebrate Juneteenth with a Flag Raising Ceremony on June 6 and a Short Film Screening event on June 21. Also, in June, we will commemorate Pride Month with a Flag Raising Ceremony on June 1 and the SMC Pride Parade on June 10.

I look forward to celebrating Juneteenth and Pride with you, in community, throughout June. Please read the event details below for more information.

Sincerely,
Shireen Malekafzali (she/her)
Chief Equity Officer
County of San Mateo
