The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met April 11, 2023. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:

GOVERNING BOARD

  • Recommendation to:
  • A) Open public hearing
  • B) Close public hearing
  • C) Adopt a resolution making findings required by Government Code Section 4217.12 and authorizing a solar energy power purchase agreement between the County of San Mateo and Peninsula Clean Energy Authority for the purchase of energy at a fixed rate allowing for design, installation, operation, and maintenance of a rooftop solar photovoltaic system for the San Mateo County Human Services Building located at 2500 Middlefield Road, Redwood City.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Matters Set for Specified Time, Item No. 6, for more information.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS/SHERIFF

  • Introduction of an ordinance amending Chapter 5.28 of the County’s Ordinance Code, known as the San Mateo County Fireworks Ordinance (“Fireworks Ordinance”), and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety.

The Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 with Supervisor Corzo casting the dissenting vote to accept amendments to the ordinance. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 11, for more information.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

  • Introduction of an ordinance restricting the use of County resources to assist or cooperate with immigration authorities, and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety.

The Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 with Supervisor Mueller casting the dissenting vote to accept the ordinance. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 12, for more information.

  • Adopt a resolution declaring County of San Mateo an “Autism-Friendly” community.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 13, for more information.

COUNTY EXECUTIVE

  • Adopt a resolution extending the Board’s proclamation of local emergency relating to December 2022 extreme weather conditions and associated impacts.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Consent Agenda, Item No. 22, for more information.
