The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met for a hybrid meeting Nov. 1, 2022. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
- Receive report, presentation, and public comment on Sheriff Office Oversight Models.
The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to support oversight of the Sheriff's Office and direct staff and the ad hoc committee to return to the full Board with a proposal that involves both an Inspector General and a board. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 4, for more information.
COUNTY EXECUTIVE
- Adopt a resolution:
- A) Declaring the Board of Supervisors’ intent to purchase the real property described as Vacant Land at the southwest corner of Pescadero Creek Road and Stage Road, approximately .67 acre, identified as San Mateo County Assessor’s Parcel Number (County APN 086-031-140), (“Property”), located in the unincorporated Pescadero area of the County, for a total purchase price of $903,000; and
- B) Authorizing the President of the Board of Supervisors to execute a Real Estate Purchase and Sale Agreement and Escrow Instructions (“Agreement”) with the owners of the Property, William Ray, Peggy Smith and Kortney Drake (“Sellers”), for the County’s acquisition of the Property; and
- C) Authorizing the County Executive, or designee, to execute a Certificate of Acceptance upon satisfaction of certain conditions in escrow, to be recorded with the Grant Deed transferring title to the Property to County, as well as any and all notices, escrow instructions, and documents required to facilitate the purposes of the Agreement.
- Measure K: Adopt a resolution authorizing a one-time grant of district-discretionary Measure K funds, not to exceed $20,000, to Casa Circulo for the Center for Creativity to support a feasibility study for the potential creation of a permanent arts center, and authorizing the County Executive, or designee, to execute the grant agreement.
- Measure K: Approve an Appropriation Transfer Request (ATR) transferring Measure K funds, not to exceed $100,000, from Measure K Reserves to the County Office of Arts and Culture, for countywide arts and culture programs and projects.
HEALTH
- Adopt an ordinance amending Section 5.64.070 ordinance amending Section 5.64.070 (collection of fees) of Chapter 5.64 (fees for enforcement of state public health laws) of Title 5 (business regulations) of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code, relating to imposition of fees for enforcement of state public health laws, previously introduced on October 18, 2022, and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety.
