County of San Mateo Board Meeting Update: October 5, 2021

The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met via videoconference on Oct. 5, 2021. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:

 

ASSESSOR-COUNTY CLERK-RECORDER-ELECTIONS

  • Adopt a resolution authorizing:
  • A) The President of the Board of Supervisors to waive the Request for Proposal Process; and
  • B) The President of the Board of Supervisors to execute an agreement with Kofile Technologies, Inc. for archive restoration, preservation and data conversion services, during the term of October 5, 2021, through October 4, 2022, in an amount not to exceed $3,000,000; and
  • C) The Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder or his designee to execute contract amendments and minor modifications not to exceed $25,000 (in aggregate) and/or modify the contract term and/or services within the current or revised fiscal provisions.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 8, for more information.

HOUSING

  • Adopt a resolution accepting the All Home Regional Action Plan (RAP) developed by the Regional Impact Council (RIC), which outlines eight strategic priorities and a program investment framework to reduce unsheltered homelessness by 75% across the Bay Area, including San Mateo County, by 2024.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 9, for more information.

HEALTH

  • Adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with Execushield Inc. to provide security services for the term October 11, 2021, through October 10, 2024 with an option to extend up to two additional years, in an amount not to exceed $22,000,000.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 10, for more information.

SHERIFF

  • Adopt a resolution authorizing:
  • A) The President of the Board to execute an agreement with Execushield, Inc. for the provision of security services at various County sites for the term of October 11, 2021 through October 10, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $4,532,790.00 including a two percent contingency factor, with the option to extend for two years through October 10, 2026; and
  • B) The Sheriff or Sheriff’s designee to exercise the contractual option at the Sheriff's discretion and execute contract amendments which modify the contract term and/or services so long as the modified term or service is/are within the current or revised fiscal provisions.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

  • Adopt a resolution to declare health misinformation a public health crisis.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 13, for more information.

  • Approve a resolution directing the County to establish a committee to examine youth facilities at Juvenile Hall and make recommendations for a more receptive environment at the Youth Services Center.

The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution and added a Mental Health Expert and a staff member from Children and Family Services to the committee with a total of nine members now. See Regular Agenda, Item No. 14, for more information.
