The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors met Sept. 4, 2018. Below are the results of selected items on the agenda:


MATTERS SET FOR SPECIFIED TIME

  • Recommendation to the Board of Supervisors to: 
  • A) Open public hearing 
  • B) Close public hearing 
  • C) Approve the proposed General Plan Land Use Map Amendment and Zoning Map and Text Amendment by adopting the required findings and conditions of approval; and 
  • D) Adopt an ordinance (1) amending Division VI of the County Ordinance Code (Zoning Regulations), Appendix A (Planned Unit Developments) to add the zoning text to enact the Planned Unit Development Zoning District Regulations, (2) amending Chapter 2 (Zoning Districts) of Division VI of the County Ordinance Code (Zoning Regulations) to revise the zoning maps to add the Planned Unit Development Zoning District affecting six properties in the unincorporated North Fair Oaks area, and (3) amending County General Plan Land Use Maps 8.1M and 8.4M to revise the land use designation of one property in the unincorporated North Fair Oaks area and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety; and 
  • E) Adopt a resolution authorizing the vacation of a public service easement and alley that cross APNs 054-285-260 and 060-271-060, -070, -080, -090, -100 and -110 in unincorporated Redwood City (Vacation No. R098G). 

    The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the ordinance and resolution, with the additional condition of approval below. See Matters Set for Specified Time, Item No. 6, for more information.

    • The County Planning Department shall assure that all proposed work related to the project is in accordance with the conditions of approval for the project and all applicable mitigation measures adopted in the 2011 Program EIR for the North Fair Oaks Community Plan. The applicant shall provide to the County Planning Department certification that compliance with the required conditions of approval and applicable mitigation measures have been implemented. Generally, each certification report will be submitted in a timely manner following completion/implementation of the applicable condition of approval or mitigation measure, and shall include sufficient information to reasonably determine whether the intent of the measure has been satisfied. A final report outlining completion/implementation of all conditions of approval and mitigation measures shall be submitted prior to final certificate of occupancy.  If it is determined that the hiring of a consultant is necessary to oversee condition compliance and mitigation monitoring, a consultant shall be hired by the County at the applicant’s expense.


    COUNTY MANAGER

    • Adopt a resolution waiving the request for proposal process and authorizing an agreement with Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County to provide removal defense legal services supporting immigrant residents of San Mateo County for the term of September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2019 in an amount not to exceed $764,750.

    BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

    • Introduction of an ordinance Adding Chapter 3.61 to Title 3 of the San Mateo County Ordinance Code to Prohibit Use, Possession, Sale, or Offer for Sale of Flamethrowers and waive the reading of the ordinance in its entirety.

    The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to introduce the ordinance. See regular Agenda, Board of Supervisors, Item No. 11, for more information.

    • Adopt a resolution adopting the Coastal Hope Vision for the protection of California's coastal habitats.

    The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Regular Agenda, Board of Supervisors, Item No. 12, for more information.


    DISTRICT ATTORNEY

    • Adopt a resolution accepting the District Attorney’s Office’s Annual Report For The Real Estate Fraud Program during the 2017-2018 Fiscal Year.

    The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to adopt the resolution. See Consent Agenda, District Attorney, Item No. 39, for more information.
