Public Health Q&A
Q: How long after having a COVID-19 infection will I continue to test positive?
People who have had COVID-19 may continue to test positive for up to 90 days. People who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and have recovered do not need to get tested following a new exposure if they do not develop new symptoms.

Q:I’m pregnant. Is it safe for me to get vaccinated?
Yes! Pregnant and breastfeeding people can safely receive a COVID-19 vaccine. Experts have no vaccination safety concerns for pregnant or lactating women or their babies. The COVID-19 vaccines do not contain the live virus, so they cannot cause COVID-19.
Pregnant people are more likely to become severely ill with COVID-19 than those who are not pregnant. Getting a COVID-19 vaccine during pregnancy can protect from getting very sick, needing to be hospitalized, or dying from COVID complications. The COVID vaccine can also help protect your baby. Recent studies show that vaccinated pregnant women pass antibodies to their developing baby during the pregnancy, so the baby is born with some protection from day one. Vaccinated women are also less likely to experience stillbirth or have babies that need to go to the NICU after birth. Talk to your doctor if you have questions about getting a COVID-19 vaccine.
