Public Health Q&A
Q: I lost my vaccination card. How can I replace it?
If you lost your COVID-19 vaccination card, the best way to replace it is to return to the site where you received your doses (ie. Public Health, pharmacy, doctor’s office). They should be able to issue you another card with the information in their system. Visit myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov to get a copy of your digital vaccination record.
You can also reach out to California’s Immunization Branch to request another card. You can reach out by calling 800-578-7889, CAIRHelpdesk@cdph.ca.gov, or using the Virtual Assistant tool on MyTurn.ca.gov.
We encourage all those who have been vaccinated to keep their vaccination card in a safe place and keep a picture of the card on their phone in case it gets lost.

Q: What are the vaccine side effects?
Some people have no side effects at all, while some have mild symptoms that last a day or two. This may include soreness at the injection site, fatigue, headache, chills, or a slight fever. These are normal and mean that your body is building immunity against the virus.
While side effects from the vaccine may affect your daily activities for a day or two, the symptoms from getting COVID-19 can last much longer. The infection can take 2 weeks to resolve, with some reporting long-term symptoms that last for months. The most common have included chest pain, brain fog, fatigue, and shortness of breath.

Q: What are the masking requirements in Stanislaus County?
Stanislaus County follows the guidance of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) with all masking requirements. Currently, all those who are unvaccinated should be masking anytime they are indoors in a public setting. It is also recommended that they mask if they’ll be around anyone else who is unvaccinated.
Regardless of vaccination status, masking is required in public transportation, health care settings, homeless shelters, jails, and school settings.
If you’re fully vaccinated, masks are not required in most settings. However, both the Center for Disease Control (CDC), CDPH, and Stanislaus County are recommending mask use for those who are vaccinated and would like extra protection, especially those who are at higher risk of severe illness of they became infected.
