ONGOING REPAIRS, TESTING, AND UPCOMING MEETINGS
Earlier this month contractors completed the replacement of water service lines to all 352 properties in the water quality advisory area. Upon completion City water crews began flushing and sampling every new water service line to confirm the contamination was removed. To date all sample results are showing that the services meet all state and federal safe drinking water standards. To view the latest sampling data click here.
In addition to sampling water service lines, the water quality team is testing water quality from over 75 sample locations inside the water quality advisory area. Over the last two months, weekly sampling data shows that water throughout the mains in the advisory area is meeting safe drinking water standards.
Based on the data, we are working in consultation with the California Division of Drinking Water and the U.S. EPA on a pathway towards lifting the water quality advisory.
To share the most recent sampling data and our plan for lifting the water quality advisory in Fountaingrove, the City will host community meetings in September.

INSIDE THE ADVISORY AREA
Water service line replacement is complete except for properties located at Foxtail Ct, Stony Oak Ct, and Blue Sage Ct. Through ongoing monitoring, the investigative team identified additional replacement needed at Foxtail Ct, Stony Oak Ct, and Blue Sage Ct. These repairs should be completed by the end of September.

Service Line Replacement
This work included replacing water service lines from the water main to the meter, extending the new service line from the meter to 12” behind the back of sidewalk on the property side, installing a new water meter box, and replacing the sidewalk as needed.
Property owners with contaminated water service lines are required to replace property side service lines, from the back of sidewalk to the home, to ensure property side contamination has been removed. Extending the service line 12” to the back of the sidewalk will eliminate the need for property owners to dig up and repair the sidewalk when replacing property side water service lines.

Construction and Irrigation Water
Property owners may only obtain water service for construction and irrigation water until the advisory is lifted. Property owners must sign an agreement and install advisory signs stating this water will be used for construction and irrigation purposes only.
Water Quality Advisory
The water quality advisory remains in effect for this isolated portion of Fountaingrove. Click here to view map.
OUTSIDE THE ADVISORY AREA
Residents in fire impacted areas, outside of the drinking water advisory area, have been notified, via mail, if repairs to their property’s service line is needed. As services are repaired, City staff is flushing and sampling new water service lines. The water quality samples taken from your water service will be tested by a certified lab to confirm that your new water service meets all state and federal regulatory requirements for safe drinking water.

The City anticipates that service line replacement outside of the advisory area will be complete by the end of September 2018.
