WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENTS
San Diego Bay Watershed Water Quality Improvement Plan Update
The County of San Diego (County) is planning an update to the San Diego Bay Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) focusing on the Spring Valley Watershed, a subwatershed within the Sweetwater Hydrologic Area within San Diego Bay Watershed Management Area (WMA). The update aligns with the optional compliance pathway in Provision B.3.c of the San Diego Region’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Systems (MS4) Permit1 (Permit). Provision B.3.c offers a comprehensive planning and implementation process but also provides numerous benefits including flexibility to define a localized approach and opportunities for multiple benefit water quality projects. The project will focus on the County jurisdiction within Spring Valley Watershed.
