Five San Diego County parks are closed in August, a safety measure taken each year because of the expected high temperatures. These include already-closed-for-the-summer desert campgrounds Agua Caliente and Vallecito County Parks, in addition to El Capitan, Hellhole Canyon and Mt. Gower County Preserves. Read the article.
In partnership with 211 San Diego, the annual Live Well San Diego 5K and Fitness Challenge brings thousands of San Diegans together in support of a healthy, safe, and thriving San Diego County. The events are free and registration nis currently open at livewellsd5k.com. Participate solo or with a team - the party starts and ends at Waterfront Park!

In addition to our daily event calendar, our four community and park centers located in Fallbrook, Lakeside, Spring Valley and Valley Center have individual program guides listing all of the special classes, camps, events and programs that take place at their facilities. These are shared on a quarterly basis, and we are in the middle of the summer edition (June - September).
