The County of San Diego has developed a Green Streets Clean Water Plan to identify multi-benefit "Green Street" opportunities within the village areas of the County's western-draining watersheds.
Green Street projects implement green infrastructure elements designed to remove pollutants from urban runoff. These elements typically include both natural treatment systems and sub-surface infrastructure.
When integrated into development projects, these elements can contribute to urban greening efforts, and can support walking, biking, and transit use.
