Stormwater Structural BMP Operation & Maintenance Verification Due July 31st
CLICK HERE TO SUBMIT YOUR BMP OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE VERIFICATION ONLINE
Trash, oil, metals, fertilizers, pesticides, and sediment are different types of pollutants that could be picked up by rain or water and flow off your property into our waterways. To help prevent these pollutants from entering our rivers, lakes, streams, and beaches, stormwater structural Best Management Practices (BMPs) are installed on your property to filter them out of the water. However, for the BMPs to operate effectively and protect water quality, they need to be properly maintained.
Property owners and other designated responsible parties are required to annually verify that the BMP(s) on their property are being inspected and maintained. Starting this month, customers will be receiving a letter providing them with more information on how to submit the Operation and Maintenance Verification Form(s) for the BMP(s) on their property.
To learn more about structural BMPs and how to maintain them, please visit our “Maintaining My Structural BMP” webpage. If you have any questions regarding BMPs on your property, please contact us at BMP.Program@sdcounty.ca.gov or call (858) 495-5323.
