COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) information

San Diego County

San Diego County residents who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 may qualify for rental assistance through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) available in the jurisdiction in which they live. Below is general information about the multiple Emergency Rental Assistance Programs currently available and instructions on how to apply. All potentially eligible clients are encouraged to submit applications as soon as possible, before they are no longer accepted.

 

City of Chula Vista Residents

The City of Chula Vista’s ERAP will assist eligible households in the City of Chula Vista who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program provides rent and utilities payment assistance for renters.

 

City of San Diego Residents

For City of San Diego information and to apply, please visit www.covidassistance.sdhc.org

The City of San Diego COVID-19 Housing Stability Assistance Program helps to pay past-due, unpaid rent and utilities for individuals and families with low income in the City of San Diego who experience financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

 

All other Residents in San Diego County

For the County of San Diego COVID-19 ERAP, please visit https://covid-19-2021-rental-assistance.sandiegocounty.gov

The County’s ERAP serves renters countywide, except those residing in the cities of San Diego and Chula Vista. The program is open to renters who have experienced financial hardship directly or indirectly related to COVID-19, or have qualified for unemployment during the pandemic. Please note the County of San Diego ERAP application period has been extended through March 31, 2021.
