Discounted Rain Barrel Events

The County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program and the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation have teamed up to offer discounted rain barrels to residents in unincorporated San Diego County. Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water, prevent pollution runoff, and help lower your water bill. This program offers 50-gallon rain barrels which can be pre-ordered by clicking here. The website provides all the discount eligibility information, so make sure to review that carefully before placing your order. The events are October 24th and November 7th, but the deadlines to order are October 18th and October 31st, respectively.


Rain barrels can be picked up at the following locations:

  • El Cajon – Water Conservation Garden (12122 Cuyamaca College Dr. W.) Saturday, October 24th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Valley Center – Bates Nut Farm (15954 Woods Valley Rd.) Saturday, November 7th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • EncinitasSolana Center (137 N. El Camino Real) Ongoing pickup during store hours (Thursdays 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
