County of San Diego, California sent this bulletin at 08/28/2020 06:15 PM PDT
Dear Food and Housing Division Operators,
On Friday, August 28, 2020, Governor Newsom announced a new tiered approach called California’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy, which modifies the COVID-19 operating restrictions at businesses. California counties have been ranked into tiers based on the level of risk and number of positive COVID-19 cases. San Diego County is currently in Tier 2 – Risk Level Substantial (in red below).
Effective Monday, August 31st, many of the sectors listed below can resume indoor activities with a limited capacity and COVID-19 safety precaution modifications in place. These precautions are outlined in the State Guidelines and the Safe Reopening Plans or Food Facility Protocols, specific to your industry. Below is the summary chart released today by the State. Please locate the sector that applies to your business and follow the operational specifications in the red “Substantial Tier 2” column (the chart is also attached to this email):

Please continue to take all necessary precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19, your efforts are making an impact:
- Wear face coverings.
- Physically distance six feet when possible.
- Frequently wash your hands.
- Stay home if you’re sick.
- Follow industry specific guidelines for COVID-19.
- Review your onsite Safe Reopening Plan or Food Facility Protocol and if necessary, update it to be consistent with the new requirements for your industry.
Additionally, please be aware that DEH was notified of an incident of fake inspectors posing as government employees verifying compliance with COVID-19 Health Orders, and offering paid services to help businesses avoid fines. DEH staff would never ask for payment onsite. County staff can be identified by their County of San Diego ID badge. DEH staff will also provide an inspection report after their visit via email. Please do not hesitate to ask your inspector to show their ID badge upon entry to your facility.
We appreciate your continued commitment to protecting public health. If you have questions regarding this information or your operation, please contact our duty information specialist at (858) 505‐6900 or email at fhdutyeh@sdcounty.ca.gov.
