Carlsbad Watershed Consultation Panel Meeting Invitation
Dear Stakeholders,
The Carlsbad Watershed Management Area (CWMA) jurisdictions are performing an update of the CWMA Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP). The focus of the update is within the Agua Hedionda Hydrologic Area, specifically to analyze bacteria data concerning impacts of the beneficial uses (Shellfish Harvesting and Contact Recreation Use) in the Agua Hedionda Lagoon and tributaries.
An established CWMA consultation panel is comprised of representatives from the environmental and development communities, and Regional Water Quality Control Board staff. The consultation panel members are familiar with the CWMA, and the panel serves as a form of public participation and input mechanism. The knowledge and expertise from the Panel members provide the jurisdictions valuable feedback during the decision-making process of finalizing the WQIP update.
A virtual (Zoom Webinar) consultation panel meeting is scheduled for Thursday, September 3rd, from 9:30 am-11:30 am and is open for the public to attend. At this meeting, the jurisdictions will review the content of the planned update with the Panel members to receive recommendations. There will also be an opportunity for public comment during the meeting (3 minutes per speaker).
If you are interested in attending the virtual consultation panel meeting, please click on the following link to register. We kindly request registration be completed by 11:00pm on September 2nd to allow for sufficient meeting preparation.
