AgeWell Services Social Calls during COVID-19

San Diego County

Dear Community Partner,

I wanted to let you know about a new program the City of San Diego Parks and Recreation Departments’ AgeWell Services is offering to older adults who have limited, to no, outside social contact during COVID-19.

For many older adults, a compassionate voice in their lives can make a powerful difference especially during these unprecedented times. Our experienced staff will call participants, FREE, Monday-Friday, between 8:00am and 10:00am, just to check in and say “Hello”. Please note this is not an emergency, health or medical service. Staff will also have available vetted community resources if an older adult should inquire.

Registration is simple:

  • Mail application to AgeWell Services, 3325 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101.
  • Email application to the scroll@sandiego.gov.
  • AWS staff can fill out the form over the phone for those who need assistance

Attached is the following information:

  • Information flyer
  • PDF Application

A friendly call can really make a positive impact in the lives of older adults.  We hope you will join us by sharing this information with your clients, the community,  families, and professionals who serve older adults.  Please feel free to contact me, at (619) 236-6910, should you have any questions.

Warmly,
