The County of San Diego Watershed Protection Program and the Solana Center for Environmental Innovation have teamed up to offer discounted rain barrels to residents in unincorporated San Diego County. Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water, prevent pollution runoff, and help lower your water bill. This program offers 50-gallon rain barrels which can be pre-ordered by clicking here. The website provides all the discount eligibility information, so make sure to review that carefully before placing your order. The events are February 22nd and February 29th, but the deadlines to order are February 16th and February 22nd, respectively.
Rain barrels can be picked up at the following locations:

Spring Valley – Mt. Miguel High School (8585 Blossom Lane) Saturday, February 22nd from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Ramona – Ramona Community Center (434 Aqua Lane) Saturday, February 29th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Encinitas – Solana Center (137 N. El Camino Real) Ongoing pickup during store hours (Tuesdays/Thursdays 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.)
