March 2018 Newsletter | In Focus: Love Your Community
By Dwayne Crenshaw, CEO and Co-Founder, RISE San Diego
When we work together, we succeed together. At RISE San
Diego, we believe a healthy, safe and thriving community is built upon the
strengths of its residents. Leadership and participation from diverse community
members and organizations is essential to identify needs, create solutions and
make meaningful change.
There are numerous ways to get involved in your community!
Participate in a Civic
Engagement Training or Resident
Leadership Academy. Get to know your neighbors and your elected officials. Find
something that builds upon your strengths or interests and do one
simple thing each day to improve yourself and your community.
RISE San Diego works to elevate and advance urban leadership through civic engagement, dynamic nonprofit
partnerships and training to increase the capacity of urban residents to
effect meaningful community change. Through programs such as the Urban
Breakfast Club, the RISE Urban Leadership Fellows, and small business and nonprofit
training and technical assistance, RISE San Diego facilitates dialogue,
identifies opportunities for partnership and collaborates for innovative and
sustainable solutions.
Join us in reading this month’s Live Well San Diego Newsletter, which highlights partners who are working to make it easier and more fun for San Diego County residents to get involved in their communities.
