YMCA kids

By Baron Herdelin-Doherty, President & CEO of YMCA of San Diego County

Live Well San Diego is entering its eighth year of working with partners across all sectors to ensure that the San Diego region is healthy, safe and thriving. It is exciting to not only look back on our individual and collective successes, but also look forward to how we can move the dial together in even more innovative and impactful ways.

Your goals may be simple, like making one healthy choice each day. Or they may be challenging, such as decreasing prediabetes rates among employees. Each decision and moment spent in planning and preparation is important to helping you to be healthier, safer and have a higher quality of life.

The YMCA of San Diego County is a non-profit dedicated to improving the lives of the more than 400,000 people it serves annually. The 17 YMCA branches throughout the county are helping communities thrive and individuals reach their goals. The South Bay Family YMCA has helped significantly reduce childhood obesity rates through its programming, and the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA recently opened after a state-of-the-art renovation from the ground up, the result of big goals from dedicated leadership and community support. With programs and services focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, the YMCA strengthens communities and builds healthy individuals.

This month’s Live Well San Diego Newsletter highlights partners who are setting their own goals and helping residents live well every day for a healthy, safe and thriving life.
