San Diego is so much more than sunshine and sandy beaches – we are now ranked as one of the top 10 cities in the United States for Tech Careers. Our life science sector is fueled by top-tier research institutions, breakthrough discovery and fast-paced start-ups. Biocom works with academic organizations, industry, government entities, business advisors and life science clusters around the world to build a collaborative, supportive, knowledge-sharing environment to help its members continue to produce novel solutions that improve the human condition.

San Diego is the place where leading pharmaceutical and life science companies want to have their workforce; a place where young talent is gravitating in greater numbers than ever before.  To address the changing needs of our community and keep up with the pace of innovation, the workforce of tomorrow must have a strong foundation in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math). Biocom’s San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering , March 4 – 12, is a 10-day educational experience to engage kids and families with hands-on STEM activities and demonstrations across the San Diego region to inspire local students to become tomorrow’s innovators.

Curiosity, creativity, invention and collaboration can accelerate our local innovation ecosystem and lead to greater advancements in quality of life through improvements in communications, design and science.  This month’s Live Well San Diego Newsletter showcases partners who are advancing healthy, safe and thriving communities through technology and innovation.
