March 2016 Newsletter | In Focus: Women's Empowerment

new intro pic

By Marie Brown-Mercadel, Director of Regional Operations, County of San Diego

There are over 1.5 million women in San Diego County, which means more than a million grandmothers, mothers, sisters, and daughters are creating positive changes in our homes, schools, businesses, and communities. In honor of Women’s History Month, this edition of the Live Well San Diego newsletter celebrates stories of local women and organizations paving the way for the development of a healthier, safer, and thriving community we call home.

I urge all women in San Diego County to support one another and uplift those in need of encouragement as we move towards the collective journey of living well. I have been mentored by many strong women throughout my career and I am honored to have the opportunity to develop the next generation of women leaders. My advice to women is to be bold and creative, think outside the box, and take calculated risks to maximize your potential. Please join me in celebrating the accomplishments of the dynamic women that are making a positive difference in our community.
