San Bernardino Associated Governments, Caltrans and the City of San Bernardino worked in partner for seven years to complete construction on the $647 million (est.) Interstate 215 (I-215) Widening Project.
The completion ceremony, held on Jan. 24, 2014, commemorated the 7.5-mile corridor that was built in four phases. This momentous project is a progression towards our region's recovery; linking both East and West sides of the City San Bernardino, creating a state-of-the-art freeway system for our logistics industry and transportation, and increasing the demand for highly desirable freeway frontage for business development.

On April 15, 2014, Dr. Dev Gnanadev, chief surgeon of ARMC, announced a new nonprofit medical school to be built adjacent to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton.
“Four out of the top 10 schools in the world are in California,” Dr. Gnanadev said. “But it’s sad we don’t have enough medical schools. There are at least 3,000 California kids in Caribbean medical schools. That is a failure to provide enough medical schools in our area.”
The California University of Science and Medicine will help provide the highly skilled and educated workforce needed for decades to come. Read the full story here on SBSun.com

On May 8, 2014, San Bernardino County held its first all online fundraising campaign, securing over $500,000 for 250 nonprofit organizations in the process. I had the privilege to honor Marian Motley on November 4, 2014 during our scheduled board meeting.
If you asked Marian Motley who she is, she’d tell you she is just like any other secretary. She comes into work each morning at the San Bernardino County Government Center, rides the elevator to her floor, and tacitly labors at her desk.
But those who know here closely would tell you there's something rather special about the front desk secretary on the fourth floor. Click here to find out what it is and why I had to make a special note of her achievement.
