As we celebrate 250 years of American freedom and independence, it's a wonderful time to gather with family, friends, and neighbors to honor our nation's history and traditions.
For my family, watching fireworks on the Fourth of July is a cherished tradition, and we never miss the chance to enjoy a great community celebration.
As you make plans for the holiday, please remember that while "Safe and Sane" fireworks are permitted in some San Bernardino County communities, many cities prohibit the use of fireworks due to safety concerns. Be sure to check your local regulations before purchasing or using fireworks.
The County Board of Supervisors and the County Fire Department encourage residents to celebrate safely by attending one of the many professional fireworks shows and community events taking place throughout the region.
If you're looking for a great way to celebrate, check out the attached flyer for fireworks displays and festivities happening throughout the Fourth District.
Wishing you and your family a safe, fun, and memorable Independence Day as we celebrate this historic milestone together.

Saturday, June 6, 2026, marked an exciting milestone for public safety in the City of Chino as the Chino Police Department officially unveiled its new helicopter.
It was my honor to attend the ceremony and I'm proud to have contributed $1 million toward making this project a reality. As our communities continue to grow, having airborne support provides officers with a critical tool for emergency response, suspect tracking, search and rescue operations, and enhancing overall public safety.
There’s no greater return on investment than knowing this resource will help first responders save lives and protect our neighborhoods for years to come.
A heartfelt thank you to the leadership and officers of the Chino Police Department for their partnership and for the sacrifices they make every day to keep our community safe. This helicopter represents more than new technology—it represents our continued commitment to the safety and well-being of the residents we serve.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2026, we celebrated a major step forward for public safety with the official ribbon-cutting of the Valley Communications Center.
San Bernardino County's vast geography—from our high deserts to our mountain communities—presents unique challenges for emergency response. This state-of-the-art facility was designed to meet those challenges head-on by bringing cutting-edge technology and critical services together under one roof.
With Next-Generation 911 capabilities, live wildfire camera feeds, drone imagery integration, and real-time collaboration between dispatchers, nurses, and mental health clinicians, the Valley Communications Center will help ensure faster response times, improved situational awareness, and better outcomes for those in need.
This project represents what can be accomplished when agencies work together toward a common goal. Thank you to County leadership, the Sheriff's Department, CONFIRE, OES, and the many project partners who helped bring this vision to life.
Together, we are building a safer, stronger, and more resilient San Bernardino County.
I’d like to extend a huge thank you to the Chino Valley Real Estate Professionals for inviting me to speak at their monthly meeting.
It was a great opportunity to share updates on key countywide initiatives, as well as Fourth District projects and priorities that are shaping our communities and influencing local housing and economic growth.
I always appreciate the chance to connect with professionals who play such an important role in the future of our region. Thank you to everyone who attended, asked thoughtful questions, and brought great energy to the conversation.
Working together and staying informed is how we continue building strong, thriving communities throughout the Chino Valley and beyond.
It was an absolute honor to join the community for the official ribbon-cutting of the brand-new Orel Hershiser Chevrolet in Chino!
Many of us know Orel Hershiser as a Dodgers legend and fierce competitor on the mound, earning him the nickname "Bulldog." Today, however, we celebrate his investment in San Bernardino County and his commitment to our local community.
This new dealership represents more than a place to buy a vehicle. It brings new jobs, supports local economic growth, and demonstrates a strong commitment to the Chino community. Investments like these help strengthen our region and create opportunities for residents and families for years to come.
Congratulations to Orel and his entire team on this exciting milestone. Thank you for choosing the Fourth District, and welcome to Chino!

There is truly nothing quite like the excitement, pride, and optimism that fills the air at a commencement ceremony.
I was deeply honored to be invited by the University of La Verne to speak at the 2026 Commencement and celebrate this incredible milestone alongside the graduating class, their families, and faculty.
As graduates turn the page to their next chapter, they carry with them the knowledge, experiences, and relationships that helped shape their journey. I encouraged them to pursue their passions, remain curious, embrace new opportunities, and never forget the community that supported them along the way.
Congratulations to the University of La Verne Class of 2026! Your hard work and perseverance have brought you to this moment, and I look forward to seeing all that you accomplish in the years ahead.
Ontario International Airport has taken another step forward in its commitment to sustainability and operational efficiency with the purchase of its first zero-emission fleet vehicle, a fully electric truck designed to support airport operations.
On June 15, 2026, members of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) Board of Commissioners formally unveiled the new vehicle, which was manufactured by ZO Motors USA LLC in Fontana, and fully funded through a grant agreement with San Bernardino County. The truck, branded on all four sides with ONT’s logo and messaging, will be used to support airport logistics, facilities maintenance and transportation services, including the movement of temperature-sensitive materials.
Ontario International Airport’s annual 5K at the Runway continues to gain momentum as one of the Inland Empire’s most unique community events, raising nearly $83,000 this year in support of the USO at ONT and military servicemembers traveling through Southern California.
Officials with the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) presented a check for $82,918.99 to representatives of the USO, reflecting net proceeds from the fourth annual race held earlier this year. More than 2,000 runners, walkers, sponsors and supporters participated in the event, which has quickly become a signature fundraiser for the airport and the region.
