Here's a quick roundup from Tuesday's San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting:
Fourth District Highlights:
Item No. 17 -The Board of Supervisors approved an amendment to its agreement with the City of Montclair to continue providing supportive services for older adults. The amendment increases funding by $40,000, bringing the total contract amount from $20,000 to $60,000.
Item No. 37 - The Board of Supervisors approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the Montclair Police Department that provides office space for the Department of Behavioral Health staff to work alongside law enforcement and help respond to individuals experiencing mental health or behavioral health crises. The agreement does not involve any cost to either agency.
Item No. 65 - The Board of Supervisors approved an agreement with the City of Chino to continue participating in the County’s Urban County Program, which helps secure federal funding for local housing, community development, and homelessness assistance programs.
The agreement allows the County and City to work together to apply for and administer federal grants, including Community Development Block Grants (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnerships funding, and Emergency Solutions Grants, for program years 2027-28 through 2032-33.
The Board also authorized County officials to sign the agreements and any related documents needed to manage these programs and ensure compliance with federal requirements.
Countywide Highlights:
Item No. 2 - The Board of Supervisors honored the dedicated service of five county employees by adopting resolutions regarding their retirements:
-
Roderick "Rod" O'Handley - 28 years
-
Norma Gallardo - 20 years
-

-

Item No. 19 - The Board of Supervisors approved the purchase of a Megawatt Charging System Test Kit for $112,000. The equipment will be used to test and verify the accuracy of high-powered electric vehicle charging stations to ensure customers are being charged correctly for the electricity they receive.
Item No. 70 - The Board of Supervisors approved placing Measure I on the November 3, 2026, ballot for voters to decide whether to continue the existing one-half cent sales tax that funds local transportation projects throughout San Bernardino County. The tax would continue supporting road repairs, traffic congestion relief, public transportation, and other transportation improvements across the county.
The Board also consolidated the measure with the countywide election, directed the Registrar of Voters to prepare and distribute all required election materials, and designated the proposal as Measure I. In addition, the Board determined that placing the measure on the ballot is exempt from environmental review because it does not approve or commit funding to any specific transportation project.
Item No. 145 - The Board of Supervisors approved $41,613 for licensing fees, media rights, equipment, supplies, and event marketing to support public FIFA World Cup viewing events hosted by Regional Parks.
The Board also authorized a $14,000 payment for the media rights required to legally broadcast World Cup matches and approved the necessary budget adjustments to fund the events.
