Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to sit down with Ontario International Airport CEO Atif Elkadi in Terminal 4 for a radio interview to talk about an exciting partnership. Ontario International Airport is now the official sponsor of the Rose Bowl Stadium and UCLA Athletics, which is a big win for our region.
With March Madness in the air, it was the perfect time to highlight how ONT continues to grow its presence and support college athletics. It was also great to meet UCLA basketball legend Tracy Murray and talk a little Bruins basketball while celebrating this partnership. Go Bruins
This year's theme, "Welcome to the Big Show," perfectly captured the exciting transformation happening in the City of Ontario. From public safety and economic development to innovation and community well-being, the city continues to grow and attract new investments that are shaping its future.
One of the highlights is ONT Field, which came together in record time. This new ballpark is just the beginning of a larger sports complex that will offer great amenities for families and friends enjoying games across the public fields. There is also a lot of momentum building in the downtown arena district, with plans for mixed-use housing, dining, retail, open gathering spaces, and new entertainment options.
Earlier this month, I had the honor of partnering with the American Legion Auxiliary, Post 299, to host a Veterans Resource and Wellness Expo in the City of Chino. It was incredible to see more than 140 Veterans come out to connect with resources, enjoy free haircuts and food, and take part in helpful workshops throughout the day.
The event created a welcoming space where Veterans could learn, connect with one another, and access valuable services all in one place. It was truly inspiring to see the community come together in support of those who have served our country.
During the event, I was also proud to present the American Legion Post 299 with a $50,000 check to support renovations to their event hall, helping ensure this important space continues to serve Veterans and the community for years to come.
Congratulations to Pomona Valley Habitat for Humanity on celebrating its 50th Home Build and the completion of two new homes in the Chino Hills Los Serranos neighborhood. This incredible milestone reflects the power of partnerships between the City of Chino Hills, local businesses, faith organizations, and community members who came together to make this possible.
During the ceremony, I was able to present a check for $88,000 to help bring this project across the finish line and support the creation of safe, stable homes for families in our community. It is inspiring to see what can be accomplished when a community works together to make a lasting difference.
The number of passengers traveling through Ontario International Airport (ONT) in February increased by 6.3% and cargo shipments grew by 10.3% compared to the same month last year.
Ontario International Airport (ONT) has been recognized for creative community engagement and innovation in airport concessions, earning top honors at the Airport Experience (AX) Conference in Nashville for its Come Fly With Me craft beer collaboration with Brewery X.
