 It is with a heavy heart that we honor the memory of San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Nunez. Born and raised in Fontana, Deputy Nunez was a proud member of our community who dedicated his life to protecting and serving others. He will be remembered for his kindness, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to protecting those around him. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and fellow deputies as we honor his life and the lasting impact he made on our community.

Youth Advisory Council's Mental Health & Suicide Prevention Summit
 Please Join Us on November 8th, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m at the Fontana Sports Pavilion, 15556 Summit Ave.
A powerful day of hope, healing, and connection. You will hear from inspiring speakers, connect with local resources and be part of a movement that supports our local youth!
You will also learn the warning signs of Suicide and learn how to address it before it's too late.
Make-A-Wish Takeover Night - Ontario Reign Hockey Game
 Join Supervisor Jesse Armendarez, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Inland Empire, and the Ontario Reign for a night of hope, hockey and heart at hockey Fights Cancer Night as the Ontario Reign take on the San Diego Gulls.
We are honored to celebrate Joshua, our Hero of the Night, who dream to meet the LA Kings came true through Make-A-Wish. Joshua will be recognized during the game and will drop the first puck to kick off the evening,

 I had a great time hosting our Let's Taco 'Bout It community meet and greet at La Tapatia in Fontana, This event gave residents an opportunity to hear local updates, share their ideas, and connect with neighbors while supporting a wonderful small business in our community. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to La Tapatia for welcoming us and to everyone who came out to join the conversation. Your input and engagement are what make our community stronger!
Mt. Baldy Pop-up Office Hours
 I had the pleasure of hosting our Mobile Pop-Up Office Hours at Mt. Baldy Lodge, where residents joined us to share their thoughts, ask questions, and discuss ways our office can better serve the community. These gatherings are an important opportunity for me to connect directly with residents, listen to their concerns, and work together to find real solutions. I want to thank everyone who took the time to stop by and engage in meaningful conversations that help shape the future of our district!

 Halloween Events
 My office was able to attend over TEN different Fall/Halloween Events the last few weeks. It was such a blast seeing new faces, and seeing the smiles on our local kids faces! Looking forward to doing it again next year!
 This year,
I had the opportunity to partner with Seasonal Adventures to create lasting memories for 500 Families in the Second District.
Together with Fontana Unified, Etiwanda, and Upland Unified School Districts we were able to identify families, including foster youth and after-school program kids, who could most benefit from this experience.
Boys & Girls Club Mayor's Great Futures Gala
 Supervisor Armendarez attended the Forging Futures Mayor’s Gala, supporting the Boys & Girls Club of Fontana and Bloomington. The event helped raise vital funds for the Club’s afterschool programs, which provide local youth with a safe space to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
Rancho Cucamonga Public Safety Open House
 The Rancho Cucamonga Police Department and Fire District hosted their annual Public Safety Open House, a family-friendly event bringing the community together to learn about local safety resource and meet first responders.
San Bernardino County Fire Protection Distri
 The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District hosted a Seneca Drone demonstration, showcasing how new technology is enhancing fire response and safety operations. The unmanned aircraft is designed to support firefighters in the field, not replace them. This innovation represents a major step forward in protecting both firefighters and the communities they serve.
Water of Life, 35th Year Celebration
 Supervisor Armendarez joined community members to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Water of Life Community Church. the event honored the church's many years of service, faith, and outreach across the Inland Empire. For 35 years, Water of Life has supported families and strengthened the community through its programs and acts of kindness. It was a meaningful celebration recognizing their contributed dedication to making a difference.
Living your Legacy All-Gen Convention
 Our office hosted a booth at the Living Your Legacy All-Gen Convention, a community resource event for all ages, including students, families, career professionals, and homeowners. Living Your Legacy is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening communities by providing affordable resources and valuable information that support strong family relationships and personal growth.
San Antonio Hospital Foundation Fundraiser
 The San Antonio Hospital Foundation hosted an exciting 80s-themed fundraiser in support of vital hospital programs and community health services. Guests enjoyed a lively evening while helping strengthen local healthcare services.
Excel Club Installations at Summit and Kaiser High Schools
 Supervisor Armendarez joined Summit High School for the swearing-in ceremony of the first official group of Excel Club officers, along with the chartering of a new Excel Club at Kaiser High School. These student-led clubs, extensions of the Fontana Exchange Club, focus on leadership, service, and community engagement. Supervisor Armendarez offered opening remarks and recognized students with certificates for their commitment to making a positive impact in their schools and community.
Upland Health and Wellness Fair
 The City of Upland hosted a Health and Wellness Resource Fair focused on providing seniors with valuable information, screenings, and community resources to support healthy living and well-being.
San Bernardino County Fire Department Open House
 The San Bernardino County Fire Department hosted an exciting Open House in the City of Upland, giving the community an up-close look at the incredible work of our first responders. Attendees also took part in hands-on CPR training and learned how to properly use a fire extinguisher. It was a great day celebrating and learning from the first responders who keep our communities safe.

 Each month, we take joy in honoring the birthdays of our amazing seniors across the Second District. A heartfelt thank you to the James L. Brulte Senior Center, Fontana Senior Center, and George M. Gibson Senior Center for helping make these celebrations so special.

Fontana High School, Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration
 Fontana High School hosted a vibrant Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, bringing students, families, and staff together to honor the rich cultures and traditions of the Hispanic community. The event featured colorful dance performances, interactive booths, and displays celebrating history, music, and art from across Latin America. It was an inspiring afternoon filled with pride, unity, and appreciation for the contributions of the Hispanic community to our culture and community.
Walk & Roll to School Day, Victoria Groves Elementary
 Victoria Groves Elementary in Rancho Cucamonga celebrated National Walk and Roll to School day, promoting safe routes to school and encouraging students to stay active while building healthy habits.
Cucamonga Service Station and Route 66 Museum 10 Year Anniversary
 The Cucamonga Service Station and Route 66 museum celebrated the 10th anniversary of its reopening with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony. The event honored the station’s historic legacy and its continued role in preserving Route 66 heritage in Rancho Cucamonga.
International Credit Union Day
 Chaffey Federal Credit Union hosted a celebration for International Credit Union Day, highlighting the positive impact credit unions make through community service, financial education, and local support initiatives.
Fontana Kiwanis Health and Wellness Fair
 The Fontana Kiwanis Club hosted a Health and Wellness Resource Fair focused on supporting youth with helpful information, activities, and community resources promoting healthy lifestyles.
VW Car Show and Skate Competition, 17th year anniversary Fontana Skate Park
 The City of Fontana hosted a VW Car Show and Skate Competition celebrating the 17th anniversary of the event. The free community gathering featured classic Volkswagens, skate performances, and family-friendly fun for all ages.
