This summer, 131 teens and young adults took their first steps toward public service careers through the SPARK Summer Youth Employment Program. Designed to promote gainful employment and support both community youth and foster youth across the County, SPARK provided participants with a meaningful opportunity to explore careers within County departments that aligned with their interest.
Out of approximately 1,200 applicants, 131 youth were selected, including 84 community youth and 47 foster youth. Each participant was paired with dedicated mentors and coaches and completed a total of 21,912 hours of real work experience. Along the way, they received hands-on training, attended professional development workshops, and built workplace skills that will pave the way for future success.
