A 4th of July Message from Supervisor Jesse Armendarez
As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s take a moment to reflect on the bravery of our Founding Fathers and the freedoms we enjoy today. Our district’s scenic beauty also brings wildfire risk, so it’s important that we celebrate responsibly.
Fireworks are prohibited in the following areas: • City of Upland • City of Rancho Cucamonga • San Antonio Heights • Snow Drop Road • Fontana (unincorporated areas & everything north of Summit Ave.)
For more safety info, visit: sbcfire.org/fireworkssafety/

Bringing Marriage Services Closer to the Community!
We're excited to share a new opportunity for couples planning to say "I do" in San Bernardino County! In a special partnership between the Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk's office and the San Bernardino County Museum, marriage services are now being offered at two of the county's most historic and charming locations: the San Bernardino County Museum in Redlands and the Maria Merced Williams and John Rains House, located right here in the Second District's very own Rancho Cucamonga.
By offering wedding ceremonies in these community-centered landmarks, the County is creating a unique and memorable backdrop for couples while expanding access to public services in welcoming and meaningful spaces.

Fontana Days Run & Festival
Fontana Days is always a special time in our city—a tradition that brings families, friends, and neighbors together to celebrate our community. This year marked the 70th Annual Fontana Days Run, featuring events for all ages and fitness levels, including a half marathon, 5K run, 5K race walk, family fitness walk, and a children's half-mile dash. It’s a tradition that truly welcomes the whole family to participate and enjoy.
This year’s run was made even more memorable as we had the incredible honor of recognizing world-renowned musician and producer Travis Barker. I had the privilege of presenting a certificate in his honor during the event, while Mayor Acquanetta Warren presented him with a key to the city, named a street "Travis Barker Way," and officially proclaimed June 7th as Travis Barker Day in Fontana—a proud moment for our city.
The celebration continued at the Fontana Days Festival, where our office had the chance to connect with residents during a weekend filled with games, rides, great food, and community spirit. Fontana Days continues to be a vibrant showcase of what makes this city so special, and we were proud to be part of the festivities.
Cedar House & San Antonio Golf Tournaments
Our office had the opportunity to attend both the Cedar House and San Antonio Hospital golf tournaments, where we cheered on participants and connected with community partners committed to making a difference.
As proud sponsors of the Cedar House tournament, we were honored to support their mission of expanding programs that help individuals facing substance use and mental health challenges. The San Antonio Hospital tournament raised vital funds for their campaign to enhance maternity care - because healthy beginnings start here.
Both events highlighted the power of community coming together for important causes, and we’re grateful to be part of the impact.
Honoring Heroes at the 2nd Annual Walk for Warriors

Supervisor Armendarez is grateful for the warm welcome and remains committed to supporting public education throughout the county.
Route 66 Vendor Fair and Car Show
We had a great time at the annual Route 66 Vendor Fair, held at the historic Sycamore Inn in Rancho Cucamonga. This beloved community event brings Foothill Boulevard to life each late June with a vibrant mix of local vendors, classic cars, live music, delicious food, and family-friendly fun. Events like this continue to highlight the rich history and strong community of the Route 66 corridor.
Upland Lemon Festival
The Upland Lemon Festival has been a cherished local tradition since 1997, honoring the city’s rich citrus-growing roots. What began as a small celebration has blossomed into a vibrant, city-wide event featuring the popular Lemon Idol singing competition, delicious food contests, local craft vendors, community booths, carnival rides, and fun for all ages!
IERCC Summer Mixer & Hilton Garden Inn Ribbon Cutting
Supervisor Jesse Armendarez joined the Inland Empire Regional Chamber of Commerce (IERCC) for their Summer Series Mixer, hosted in partnership with the Fontana Chamber of Commerce. The evening also celebrated the official ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Hilton Garden Inn in Fontana.
The event brought together local business leaders, elected officials, and community members for an evening of networking and celebration. The Hilton’s renovations mark a positive investment in the region’s hospitality offerings, and the gathering reflected the continued collaboration among businesses and local leadership to strengthen Fontana’s economic growth.
CityLink 1-year Program Graduation for Benji Smith
I had the honor of attending the CityLink Graduation to celebrate Benji Smith’s completion of the year-long program at River’s Edge Ranch. It was a moving moment that highlighted the strength and growth made possible through programs dedicated to personal development and second chances.
Alongside Mayor Acquanetta Warren, I had the opportunity to speak on Benji’s inspiring transformation. Now living in River’s Edge Ranch’s new Phase 3.5 housing and volunteering at the same place that supported his journey, Benji’s story is a powerful example of what’s possible when we invest in our community. We’re proud beyond words – congratulations, Benji!
Miss Fontana Pageant
As a proud sponsor of the Miss Fontana Pageant, I was honored to attend this year’s pageant and present a $15,000 scholarship donation to the organization. The Miss Fontana program offers an incredible opportunity for young women to grow in confidence, leadership, and community involvement. I truly believe in the impact this program has on shaping the next generation of leaders, and I’m proud to support an initiative that helps guide and prepare these young women for a bright future.
Congratulations to the 2025-2026 Miss and Teen Fontana Court!

This annual event raises awareness and support for the Special Olympics, celebrating inclusion, unity, and the strength of our athletes. We’re honored to stand alongside them and support such a meaningful cause.
