Thank you to all who attended my Fourth District Office Open House on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. It was a true pleasure to connect personally with so many engaged and diverse community members.
This annual event is more than just a meet-and-greet — it’s about bringing residents together to learn how our county departments operate, share in the rich resources available across the region, and strengthen the spirit of community that makes the Fourth District so special. Your presence played a key role in making the day a success.
I hope you enjoyed the delicious food prepared by the Chino Valley Professional Firefighters and Chino Police Officers Association, the popcorn snacks from the Chino Hills PD/Sheriff’s COPs, and the sweet treat of ice cream provided by our office. It was a day filled with connection, learning, and plenty of smiles.
Our county departments work diligently to serve your needs and improve the quality of life for all. Your participation shows just how strong our community is when we come together — and for that, I’m truly grateful.
Thank you again for joining us. I look forward to welcoming you back next year!

In a solemn and heartfelt gathering, the Montclair Police Department hosted the 2025 San Bernardino County Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony, bringing together law enforcement agencies, families, and community members to honor the brave men and women in law enforcement who dedicate their lives to protecting our communities.
This solemn ceremony honored the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. We remember their courage, their service, and the profound impact they had on those they served.
To the surviving family members and fellow officers—thank you for your strength and for sharing your loved ones with us. May their memories always be a blessing.
The Chino Valley Independent Fire District recently unveiled a powerful new fire apparatus specially designed to respond to aircraft emergencies at Chino Airport—and it’s a true game-changer.
This state-of-the-art vehicle is built with the high-intensity demands of aviation incidents in mind. Equipped with high-powered foam systems, specialty firefighting chemicals, and advanced rescue tools, the new rig is ready to tackle the most complex and dangerous aircraft emergencies with speed and precision.
This major upgrade was made possible by a $287,013 investment I provided in May 2022 to Fire Chief Dave Williams, then-Board President Mike Kreeger, and Director of Finance Mark Shaker. Their leadership and commitment to safety helped bring this vision to life.
With this new apparatus in service, Chino Airport is now better prepared than ever to protect pilots, passengers, and the surrounding community. It’s an investment in safety that will make a lasting impact in the skies—and on the ground.

I partnered with the Ontario-Montclair School District to bring a fun and creative twist to literacy — book vending machines at local elementary schools!
Thanks to $58,000 in funding from the Fourth District, seven schools are now home to colorful vending machines stocked with exciting reads — and the first round of books is completely on us!
But here’s what makes it extra special: students earn a golden “Inchy the Bookworm” token by demonstrating positive behavior, strong attendance, or growth in literacy. That token becomes their ticket to choose a brand-new book, turning hard work into a fun and meaningful reward.
It’s more than just a book — it’s a celebration of learning, character, and progress. Let’s keep our kids' reading, thriving, and turning the page to a brighter future!
Ontario International Airport (ONT) marked another month of passenger growth in April, officials announced during a meeting Thursday of the Ontario International Airport Authority (OIAA) Board of Airport Commissioners. The streak of 50 straight months of passenger growth began in March 2021.
The Southern California gateway’s passenger count totaled 575,623 last month, an increase of 0.4% compared with April 2024. The number of domestic passengers was 539,067, up 0.4%, while international travel volume rose by 0.6% to 36,556.
During the first four months of 2025, ONT welcomed more than 2 million air travelers, 0.5% higher than the first four months of 2024. Domestic passenger volume increased 1% to 1.9 million while the number of international travelers decreased 4.7% to 151,364.
You’re about to enter the airport’s security screening area when you realize you have a new tube of toothpaste, a barely used bottle of sunscreen or another toiletry item that’s just too big to keep in your carryon luggage. So you throw it in the nearest trash You know the feeling. You’re about to enter the airport’s TSA screening area when you realize you have a new tube of toothpaste, a barely used bottle of sunscreen or another toiletry item that’s just too big to keep in your carryon luggage. So you regrettably dump the product in the trash can just outside of security as you think, “What a waste.”
Thanks to the new Toiletries for Troops program that we've rolled out in partnership with our USO, those discarded items can now help support the thousands of military heroes who pass through ONT each year!
